WiFi troubles

Hello,

We are getting down to the wire with a competition this weekend. Our robot works fine with the ethernet cable connecting the Cortex “brain” to the joystick but will not work with WiFi

I have tried
switching out the batteries
different combinations of WiFi keys
re-loading the software
re-syncing the joystick to the brain
checked to see if the WiFi keys work on another robot and they are fine.
verified that the firmware was current

I always turn of the devices before unplugging.
I also unplug the brain before the joystick or laptop.
It has shown all good then the brain light on the robot turns red after a few seconds.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is strange. In order to provide you with an efficient response, please confirm if you have the VEXnet Keys 1.0 or 2.0?
I await your confirmation.

Also just to clarify: if you have the Cortex you need to tether it to the Joystick using a USB A-to-A cable, not an ethernet cable.
Right?
