nahhhh, just use the vexlink radio.
What if your team is an individual team
Really funny bro, but Vex is not that stupid
Then we can put them in a room with another singular team.
I mean out of desperation, that might n be so bad, Iâm not saying itâs ideal but at least the other alliance is at the same disadvantage.
Far from ideal seeing as communication and teamwork is a big part of the competition, but as @224x suggested, this could be mitigated with walkie talkies (or vexlink radios).
Just gotta make sure it doesnât interfere with the robots right? If it works it works.
Mybe one thing that could be done is to require everyone who just wants to stop by and talk with a partner for a match to go into a hallway or other open space where they can separate but still be able to have a normal conversation.
I hope it is postponed until this slows down, but I hope its not canceled.
Season wonât be postponed, it has started already with builds, online challenges, and scrimmages. World venue is booked year in advance, so that canât be postponed either. Teams can choose when they want to start. EPs will host events when it is safe to do so in their areas.
Right now news here is that they are slowly reopening schools here so maybe we will have internal Vex tournments but there are gonna be less teams in a tournment then before
So basically guys, wear masks and wash your hands to get events started ![]()
well Kentuckyâs shutting down now so lifeâs getting hard.
Harsh, Schools started here and it had been an breeze
I think the competition will be delayed
I really do think that will happen, right now cases are rising and really on student came to school with covid, I was doing Virtual so it really does not matter to me
I live in California and I think that this season is just not happening, (we are at least going to have a very late start) considering that we canât have the large gatherings that we need in order to have these competitions. For myself, my team has been struggling to get together and actually work on our robot. We barley have anything done and now that school has started, it is going to be even harder to get together because a lot of our more experienced members have a ton of AP/honors classes and are working past 10 basically every night and all day on Saturdays so there is basically no time for us to get together now. (If we were actually on campus, then we would be able to get together at lunch and maybe a little before and after school). Before schools started, our team basically got the base, base tray and just barley started on our lift and thatâs it. IDK, other places across the country might be able to still hold these competitions, but in California, you basically canât have gatherings of 10+ (that arenât from the same family) and only essential businesses are open right now, and I donât expect that to be changing anytime soon.
RECF has actually made a lot of provisions for events so that they can happen safely this year. I am an Event Partner in San Diego, and I will be hosting an event this year. It will likely be an online skills only event, but it will definitely have judging and awards. Most of the California EPâs like myself cannot post events yet because our school districts havenât made decisions about facility use, but the events will happen. They might just look very different than what you are used to.
Well new news for georgia, they are saying that we will have to do our state test, and also the vaccine will be out soon, we may be starting our comptions in October
A properly tested and effective vaccine will likely not be out for some time. Our school also plans to open in October, but everyone here expects that plan to change
