While my team was building the robot we had a question in mind. Was the catapult more important than wings or wings more important than catapult
Cata is more important, wings are easy to make priorotize making the cata first
It really depends on your play-style. If you are more of a matchloading team, then a catapult would be the most useful, especially if you have some sort of high arc to shoot over blockers. If you are more worried about scoring triballs by pushing, then wings are more important. Obviously a combination of both would be the most useful, but if you can’t/aren’t able to do both, then chose whichever one suits your play-style more.

It depends on what side you want to play on, and your strategy. If you want to play on the matchloading side, catapult is more important in some strategies. If you want to play on the scoring side, wings tend to be more important. Thats why many teams use both. However, this is dependent on strategy. I have seen many amazing robots that dont use conventional designs, so feel free to make your own decision in the end.

Thanks. My team already decided to do wings last and catapult first. Right now we switched designs on our catapult and working on it right now.
a cata is a big project but one well worse it. wings are a valuable addition but frankly herding the tri-balls is a skill anybody can do with or without wings so i have got to side with cata
