How many VEXIQ Smart Motors are allowed for the 2020-21? Robots may use up to six VEX IQ Smart Motors. (Page 20, Motors)

What is the starting position for the robot? The two (2) designated 11” x 19” (279.4mm x 482.6mm) volumes of the Field where Robots must start the Match. Starting Positions are bounded by the inner edges of the long black lines, outer edge of the short black line, and the inner edge of the field perimeter. (Page 9, Starting Positions)

Can the robot expand from the starting size once the game begins? If so, is the expansion limited or unlimited? Yes, the robot can expand from the starting size once the game begins: “Once the Match starts, expansion is unlimited.” (Page 12, Pre-match setup)

What is the limit to the number of game objects the robot may possess? The rulebook does not specify any limit on the number of game objects the robot may possess.

What are all the various ways to score points during Driver Control? A Base Riser is worth one (1) point. (Page 8), A Stacked Riser is worth one (1) point. (Page 8), A Completed Row is worth three (3) points. (Page 4), A Completed Stack is worth thirty (30) points. (Page 4)

What happens to a game element that falls out of the Field? The game element (i.e. Riser) will remain outside of the Field and will not be returned. (Page 13, Keep Risers in the Field)

If a robot becomes disabled and removed from the field for repair during the Teamwork Challenge, what happens to any game object that was being held by the robot? The game object (e.g. Game Element: Riser) must be removed from the Field. (Page 14, Handling the Robot mid-match is allowed under certain circumstances)

Can a metal shaft be cut to a custom length? Yes (Page 20, Modification of parts)

Can a plastic beam be cut to a custom length? No (Page 20, Modification of parts)

During the Skills challenge, what happens to a game element being held by the robot if the robot is handled and returned to the starting zone. The game element (i.e. Game Element: Riser) must be removed from the Field. ( Handling Robots during a Programming Skills Match)
