Our team purchased a Wireless Programming cable to assist the team with programming and debugging robots. However the RJ12 cord was lost at a competition. We attempted to replace it with one we bought off of amazon however it won’t allow us to upload code to the cortex’s and won’t power the wireless programming module. Any insight or help would be appreciated.
RJ12 cables come in two flavors, one reverses the pins, make sure you have the right one.
here is a photo showing the ends of a working cable.
the same color wire should be on the outside when viewed like this.
Is there a notation for when we should expect them reversed?
One monoprice page said reversed for one and straight for the other.

So we should order the “straight” one that is not reversed for Vex?
Yes, I think it is a reverse cable, but don’t hold me to that.
Just checked my (official orange) cables and mine are indeed reversed, ie if you put the two heads up to each other in the same orientation they are reversed and so are the random gray ones i found that work fine
and many websites confirmed this is called reversed
