I can pair the remote and brain with tether and control the bot. But, when remove tether the brain just keeps searching for the remote. 900 mHz removed and re-installed about 5 times each and no change.

We’re sorry that you have encountered this issue. The most common cause for this issue is that the 900 MHz Radios are not fully in both the Robot Brain and the Controller. When the radio is fully inserted, only about 7-8mm (slightly over a quarter inch) of the radio is exposed.
To insert and remove the radio from both the Robot Brain and Controller, the battery from each of these devices must be first removed to disengage the radio latch. On the Robot Brain, remove the Robot Battery and then press and hold the red button on the bottom of the Robot Brain when inserting and removing the radio. On the Controller, the battery door and Controller Battery must be removed to insert or remove the radio.
