Wires on VEX Flashlight Kit - are they supposed to be smaller?

Hi,

I just received my VEX Flashlight Kit on Friday and it works really great. I really didn’t think that it was going to be so bright, but it really puts out a lot of light.

I know that a lot of you have already purchased one too and I have a dumb question to ask: are the wires on yours really small like the ones on mine?

I just figured the the wires would be the same size as the ones on the motors, camera, etc. They really didn’t look any different to me in the pictures, but the wires on the Flashlight Kit that I received are a lot smaller.

I am just asking to make sure that is the way it is supposed to be and that I didn’t get a bad one.

If someone could let me know if the wires on their Flashlight Kit are really small like the ones on mine, I would really appreciate it.

do you mean the wire length or the length of the leads (metal pins coming out of wires)

i believe if they are small its to better fit the vexplorer

Or do you mean the gauge?

would that really matter? actually that might change the pin heading, isn’t it supposed to be 0.1" in between each pin or something like that?

he probably means the length of the wire for the flashlight

well it woulnt be much or a problem then, you can just use an extension cable :smiley:

that is what i thought but maybe he doesn’t any extension cables

theres one that comes in the starter kit, they’re really cheap anyway

I’m sorry, I guess I should have been more specific. The wires on the Flashlight Kit that I received are a smaller guage than the wires that are on the motors, camera, etc.

I was just asking someone else who had gotten the Flashlight Kit if the wires on theirs were a smaller guage too. I didn’t think that the wires were going to be a different guage and I thought that maybe a mistake had been made on the one that I received.

I just wanted to see if everyone elses was the same as mine, that’s all.
