What do you guys think the high scores will be at the world championship?
Will someone beat the 365 set in driver skills?
Will someone beat the 185 set in programming skills?
230+ programming by 1615a just saying xD
And someone will break the 365… possibly 390?
I am thinking the highest score for driver skills is about 370.
Programming… 185 can easily be beaten, but it will take work.
shhhhhh
My predictions are
Programming : 275 (preferably me )
Driver : 400
I think we’ll start seeing some effiency bots that have more high goal capabilities (ie pick up a couple from the ground and put them in the high goal) , which will allow for higher then the current 365, and probably hit 400+. We’ll see.
Hi
Yes, that empty far side of the high goal does look very tempting…but to score 400 points in 60 seconds, you need to score 6.67 points per second to stay on scoring schedule. 2 sacks in the high goal is worth 20 points, so this allows 3 seconds to gather the sacks from the field, lift the intake to the high goal, score the sacks safely and lower the intake back to the field. On a 400 point schedule you could try to gather and safely score 5 sacks up there and get the intake back down to the field in about 8 seconds to make this routine worthwhile. On a 300 point schedule you would have 10 seconds to complete this. This would be quite some challenge to do reliably
Cheers, Paul
So far, the efficiency bots have gotten really good at sweeping the stacks of 5, the rows under the trough, and sticking a few match loads on the high goal. I think the efficiency bots will keep getting faster at doing this, to the point where they can start sweeping up the rows along the wall and scoring those as well. If the drivers practiced enough to the point where they could complete the 365 in even less time (52, 53 seconds), then they’d have enough time to sweep up another row along the wall and score it, adding 40 points to their score and breaking the 400 barrier.
They could also adjust the gearing on their drive to make it faster, since it only has to go for 1 minute, rather than 2. A 1:2 rather than a 1:1.6 might make or break a high skills score.
I have a feeling that the chinese and singapore bots with spatulas/back dumpers have gotten even more efficient and faster and could probably score around 400 points in robot skills with intense driver practice, which they are probably doing right now.
Otherwise programming will probably be around 250 or whatever 1615a has programmed if Justin gets it consistent.
I happen to have heard some rumors from the people around the 675A camp that you boys are around 250 for programming? I wish you guys the best of luck, I for one know i wont be anywhere that high this year, but good luck to everyone competing in the skills challenges.
As for Driver skills, I’ll say the Oats from New Zealand will be close to 400-425 by then.
Wow, 250… Seems like a stretch. We would be lucky to get over 200.
Something that should probably be noted is that the 365 and 360 took 14 tries to get… at worlds there will be only 3 tries. So we might not be seeing much higher, if at all, then that.
