World Championship Sugar Painting Robot Showcase

Hello everyone,

This is a follow-up to my earlier post where I shared our journey with the sugar painting robot and sought advice on competing for the Judges Award.

As mentioned previously, we discovered the online challenge focusing on video presentations, which allowed us to showcase Chinese traditional culture and our unique “sugar painting” robot. This effort earned us a spot in the World Championship.

Now, I’m excited to share a video that provides an overview of our sugar painting robot, its programming, and operation. This video is not intended as a tutorial but rather as a showcase of our project.

In the video, you’ll see:

An introduction to the sugar painting robot and its integration with AI using a tool called Cursor
A demonstration of the robot in action, from setup to creating sugar art pieces

I want to emphasize that this project was led by my daughter and her team.

We’ll be showcasing this robot in the pit area during the World Championship, and we’d love for you to stop by and see it in action. This is a 100% student project that highlights creativity, cultural significance, and technical skill.

So don’t leave us in suspense, post all the details. Did the judges come by? What did the other roboteers think?

My team’s robot was a big hit at the World Championship, attracting a large crowd. The judges did come by and showed interest, though it didn’t win the Judges Award this time. However, we were given a trophy during the regional division awards ceremony. Congrats to my team on this achievement!
