Worlds Judging

Hey, so I have been asked the question by my friends if they are allowed to be judged at worlds if they did not win a judged award at states/provincals. Can anyone confirm what award you must win to get judged or if everyone has an equal chance. There is this forum Design and Excellence Notification for Worlds
that says people will be notified 2 weeks prior to worlds but with the judging format and how you must submit a digital notebook im not sure if its the same this year.
Thanks!

A few good resources to look at:

Specifically, the “Awards Judging” section:

Awards Judging for VEX Worlds
Team judged interviews for the 2022 VEX Robotics World Championship will be conducted remotely via Zoom, and will be consistent with the general judging guidelines found in the REC Foundation Judge Guide with specific process and preparation instructions found on the Remote Judging Guidelines and Processes page. Team interview times will be user-selectable by designated Team Contacts (as registered in RobotEvents.com), using SignUp Genius.
Submission of the team’s Engineering Notebook will be done digitally. Digital Engineering Notebooks will be submitted via a link to where the Notebook can be accessed remotely by the judges. Instructions for Submitting Digital Engineering Notebooks can be found on [this page] How to Submit Digital Engineering Notebooks - REC Foundation).
It is important that the team coach/mentor and team members read and understand this entire process, especially the rules and guidelines for remote judging and preparation of the Digital Engineering Notebooks.

From there, make sure you click on the ‘Remote Judging Guidelines’ link.

In that section, you’ll find ‘Eligibility and Process for Remote Judging’:

  • All teams qualified for the 2022 VEX Robotics World Championship are eligible to submit a Digital Engineering Notebook and eligible to receive a remote judged interview.

Note, however, that according to the Judge Guide (link also listed in above General Info):

To be eligible for the Excellence Award at the VEX Robotics World Championship, a team must have been awarded the Excellence Award at an event that qualifies teams directly to the VEX Robotics World Championship during the current competition season. Eligible teams must submit their Engineering Notebook for the VEX Robotics World Championship. Eligible teams will be notified by email after the second weekend in March.
