WorldsSelection-gate

I had a weird experience with a team in alliance selection at worlds which I will choose to keep anonymous, and will not be mentioning who. What happened was we unfortunately had a bad Qual pairings and seeded low. At alliance selection, the team that was going to select us was knowingly prevented from choosing us explicitly by one parent on the team. Would this be a RECF student centered violation, and what would be the right way to handle this.

These “gates” are getting out of hand lol

But seriously I would definitely not condone behavior such as this, especially on a stage as big as worlds. As far as the question of, is this against recf polity I am unsure. (I am sure it is but I don’t have specific evidence pointing forwards it.) However, is it moral, no. Teams work very hard to make alliances with other teams throughout tournaments.

A parent stepping in to choose who a team picks is definitely in violation of rule G2. Here is a link to the game manual if you would like to check for yourself! VRC Over Under Game Manual - VEX Robotics

Well your team can document this using Code of Conduct reporting tool.

You can also contact you RECF Regional Support Manager (in a week or two - let them recover from Worlds  ! )

I feel bad for the team with adults are meddling at this level.
