Are the worm gears from the Advanced Mechanics and Motion kit able to be used effectively for gearing things?
I notice that the teeth of the gears are on a slight angle, which makes them fit together tightly.
Haven’t used them to power anything yet.

The worm gears only mesh with the low strength gears. High strength gears are too wide. We had a team try using the metal pinion gears with worm gears on an arm, and the only result they got was a bunch of stripped worm gears. If you are planning on using them in a lift, you might want to use multiple worm gears to prevent stripped gears.
The worm gears aren’t supposed to mesh with low strength gears. The Kit should come with a special worm wheel that has angled teeth that fit with the worm gear. I’ve never used them, but in theory they should work.
Oh, I guess we must have lost those, because we definitely don’t have any. That makes far more sense though.
