This error keeps on popping up; even if I switch to a new program or power cycle the brain, this error still pops up as if nothing happened. What’s going on?
I had the same thing at first. If you used the break block incorrectly that could be the reason. Make sure your brain is fully charged or put it in another slot.
bad cable, or bad USB connector perhaps.

check that you have the latest version of vex code installed.
Do you have Visual Studio Code or some other tool open that would be trying to take control of the V5’s serial ports? That conflict would cause issues with downloading.
Nevermind, apparently the brain itself is broken, preventing all means of download.
