2021 - 2022 VEX Robotics Competition - Tipping Point

Yeah, this rule change is going to do nothing for elevated goals, this just makes it easier to score the 20pts for goals in the home zone.

As far as the platform goes, it’s now 40/30 for balanced and 20/0 for unbalanced, while it was 0/0 for an unbalanced platform prior to this. You were never eligible for 60 points on one goal.

which will be published next week - so will see how It all comes together when July 27th Game Manual is published.

hopefully they go through the Q&A fully before then so that way everything is cleared up and we don’t have to wait until the end of august for things like t6 to be cleared up

That was the intent of the end of July release of Game manual - include Q&A issues/resolutions.

I know that. I wrote it anyways.

I wonder if someone is going to make a robot that shoots rings onto mogos

that would be cool lol

Edit- not mine

my man @Golf

But honestly, this gives me an Idea. What if someone were to make a ring mechanism like turning point double catapults, but instead of launching 2 balls and hitting both flags, it launched 2 rings onto both tall neutral posts?

physics time :smiling_imp: 20chr

Everybody gangsta til the opponent takes the neutral goal

I am not gonna lie I think this is a different competition but Tower takeover was the best. I was thinking how long and wide are the foam squares on the floor of the arena? 1ft by 1ft? Trying to code a quick autonomous before competitions in January. We are a bit behind but I think we can hit the deadline.

2ft by 2ft, the whole field is 6 tiles by 6 tiles, making a total of 12ft by 12ft for the whole field.

Here’s a link to Appendix A. Every season, appendix A will hold your field measurements of elements and field specifications.

Thank you so much! That should clear up my measurements for the coding for the most part, but how far from the starting side are the towers to pick up.

Sorry, I edited the post just now to include handy dandy Appendix A, so my bad. (Based off the CENTER of the goals) The yellow neutral mobile goals in the middle are 6 feet away from the driver side wall, and the short neutrals are 3 feet away from the front and back walls. The alliance goal that starts on the line is 3 feet away from the driver side wall, and 1 foot away from the front and back walls. Then the alliance goal that starts on the platform should be relatively obvious.

So I was programming Vex Moby and I know the two back motors are a drivetrain but should I make a motor group for the two arm motors so they run in sync with each other?

Yes, otherwise ifi they do not turn in sync the arm can warp.

indeed thank you that makes more sense wanted to make sure
