Also, AWP is not a point in itself, but extra thing added to points table
We said that last year about disc not fitting into the high goal. Teams will just evolve and fit as many as physically possible. You could probably fit all of them into the two nets if you have a good strategy for fitting them in.
I think the main things that could determine the meta is if you can be shooting the acorn things, the size limits, and how strong the endgame pole is.
Thanks for correcting me.
Does anyone know how the climbing is going to be scored? I’ve rewatched the video so many times and it does not make sense.
It’s relative. IIRC, the lowest hang (compared to all other robots on the field) gets 5 points and the highest hang gets 20
I believe it works by scoring relative to the other robots. Whichever robot is highest off the ground gets 20 points. The second highest gets 15, third gets 10, and the lowest robot will get 5.
It will be clear in <36 hours. Hard to assess from the available information.
It’s unfortunate that the game manual has not been released. Apparently it takes some people a while to READ IT.
Wait for the game manual. Then ask if it still doesn’t make sense. Game Manual and scoring details come out May 12 at around 5 pm CT.
The lowest point of the robot
At first, it does seem like it would be really easy. However, if you really think about it, there are a lot of new challenges that Vex has never seen before. I mean, climbing a pole that probably has no grip (similar texture to the spin up rollers) is not going to be easy. Second, finding out how to hold and maneuver the tri-balls is going to be a challenge. This game is going to be a great challenge, and extremely fun. I’m exited to get to work on a new robot!
does anyone know the height of the pole to climb up?
Could you tell me how much one acorn weighs? Thanks
Everyone! Just wait until the game manual gets released. THEN ask questions.
Approximately one laden swallow.
When will the hero bot be released?
Yes, I have, it had a similar endgame in that the robots had to hook on to monkey bars, swinging to higher bars in order to get more points.
Kinda out there already:

This seems different - climbing/lifting on/hanging from a vertical post while avoiding/using a single cross bar.
