Just wanted to drop in and release a new instructions set for a Robot Sizing Tool for the new, larger size limits in the 2024-2025 VEX IQ Robotics Competition game, Rapid Relay.
This tool uses parts from the 228-5293 VEX IQ Robotics Competition Robot Sizing Tool, so anyone with an existing sizing tool can make this updated tool. Additionally, there is a Parts List at the start of the instructions to allow users to source their own VEX IQ Parts, if needed.
The tool is intended to be used more similarly to the V5 Robot Sizing tool. Teams would place their robots on a VEX IQ Rapid Relay field inside one of the starting zones. This tool would then be swiped over the robot. As long as the robot is fully within the starting zone and does not interfere with this tool, it is legally in-size. It features feet to ensure the tool is swiped across the robots correctly, and to help the tool stand on its own!
We’re going to be working to get this link up on both the VEX Robotics website and the RECF Library as well. We hope this make inspecting go just a little bit easier at your next event!
