THANK YOU, VEX TEAM
I am noticing a lot of differences with this hero robot compared to all the other robots from all the other years.

Well, if you still haven’t upgraded your gen 1 kit, now is the time! It looks like you would need to buy the following kits, and the corner connectors on the bottom of the bot are not available for purchase outside of the upgrade kits.

Motor Shaft Add-On Pack 228-7456 $12.39
Linear Motion Pack 228-7887 $10.89
Winch and Rope Pack 228-7884 $15.99

VEX IQ 1x Beam Pack 228-9059 $15.49
Hybrid Gear Pack 228-7886 $10.89
24 & 48 Tooth Gear Pack (Blue) 228-4127 $6.99

Order Total $102.63

Not available on the VEX Website:
2x Wide, 30 Degree Right 1x2 Corner Connector (228-2500-371)
2x Wide, 30 Degree Left 1x2 Corner Connector (228-2500-372)

I’m sure someone can post a kit they are in… But… Just upgrade!!!

We have a number of elementary schools in our area that are strapped for time and resources, but it looks like the OG Clawbot will play this game without too much trouble…

It’s strange how they posted the old version of Huey here…

I believe they did with the old Dex too, I assume it’s just a mistake.

Anywho, I really commend the GDC for finally making a bot that actually looks quite nice! They have finally used a 1:2 drivetrain instead of the old 1:1, and they used the Double 2x Wide, 2x2 Double Offset Corner Connectors that have been used heavily for drivetrain spacing in many competitive robots over the past years. The cascade lift is a nice touch as well!

These have been is some games. In looking at the build, they are used as a brace across the bottom of the robot. So it will be pretty easy to build this without this part.

The cost of the two upgrade kits are $350 combined, so in my case 70*$350 is about $24,500 + shipping. But we have a few years into this, so we have most of the items,

Thank-you
thankyou very much

Thank you, GDC, and all who have helped, for all the work you have put into this. I am sure it will inspire many young brains to think above and beyond for their robot designs. W herobot design.

Does Huey have a VEX Robotics Part Number? i.e. like 228-3428-750 for Gen 1 Clawbot, or 228-8899 for Gen 2 Basebot

Reason for asking - to keep all my CAD model in some kind of alignment with the VEX “system”

Here’s a parts list we threw together in case it’s helpful to folks (we have kids make kits to take home over the summer)

omg YOU are amazing!!! I was about to spend 2 hours scrolling the 3D visuals to pull all the parts. Not all heroes wear capes

I’m very proud of the GDC for this herobot. This does everything a herobot should. Introduces mutliple good build practices, build quality basics, and plays the game well but not insanely well. Props to them
