Alas, it would not let me order claiming Fedex does not ship to my school address. the one we have been using for 13 years. Bug in the ordering system?
Did send email to [email protected] to generate a quote as advised by ordering support on line.
In order to reduce frustration of having customer go to checkout and find out there is a glitch for shipping options - it is likely easiest for them to make it as out of stock while they fix the glitch.
Sorry for late message. I was wondering if there is any update on when the preorder issues would be resolved. Trying to determine if I should sleep or stay up for the possibility of it coming online.
V5 is $599.99 (USD) - (without the 8 extra plates)
IQ is $179.99 (USD)
Do not forget about shipping, though. I try not to join the litany of complaints about shipping costs, but… be aware. This is my shipping quote for one V5 set to Pennsylvania.
This has been fixed. Our website automatically syncs inventory levels with our management system every night. Since the new game kit part numbers are technically set to “0” there, the website flipped the pre-orders to Out of Stock at last check.
We’ve excluded the part numbers from that sync, and turned the pre-orders back on, so should be good moving forward. Sorry for the confusion!
Unfortunately, they’ve said that ordering to worlds is a no go. You can still buy whatever the store has, but unless you’re looking for VIQRC fields, they are not bringing nor selling things that large.
$240 for IQ to my front door is surprising. I hope this game has lots and lots of reusable IQ parts. Mix&Match was the lowest ratio of IQ to non-ususable elements. What happened to the $100 price target?
FedEx isn’t helping this out. Unless you blew out the box dimension limits, this should ship for far less.
Has VEX Robotics considered partnering with Amazon in some way to make selling robotics components more accessible and less expensive overall via bulk shipping?
We are actually ordering 2 sets. The shipping is just over twice the quote above.
It made me wonder about the non-profit that helps run events in our area. I think they order seven V5 sets a year (not sure about IQ). I checked… shipping rates are still around $170 per V5 set.
No additional comments… surprisingly keeping them to myself.
Ok… now increase the distance from 2 100 km (from Dallas to DuBois) to 15 000 km (Dallas to SG)… lets see how many times the shipping cost I will end up paying…
This tracks with what I’m seeing for my area. No idea why ordering two sets is more expensive per set shipping wise as compared to ordering one, but it seems like it bounces around depending on how many you order. For reference, here’s the shipping cost per set for Idaho.
