6X12 plates needed for my team

I am a coach for a team, and my kids are looking for 6X12 VEX IQ plates (228-2500-051), any color. We tried to order them from the store (Large Plate Add-On Pack), but they are out.

If anyone has any ideas on how to source these plates, please let me know. We are happy to purchase them. We have lots of other parts to trade, if that would be preferred.

(PS: And my kids are always on the lookout for color pieces, like purple, green, red, yellow, orange, etc., to make their robot more cheery,. If you have any extras, we would be happy to purchase or trade for them, too.)

How many of the 6x12 plates are you looking for?

I had a conversation a week ago with VEX Sales Support. They expect a large order of VIQ/Vex GO parts in the last week in August.

Color parts are available in prior year games, you might want to see if VEX has any for sale. Ebay is another good source for those parts.

Foster, thanks for the reply. Our team needs 8 of the 6 X 12 plates. I know that seems like a lot, but they are using them as a sandwich for their gear trains. But I will take any I can get.

Like I mentioned, we have a lot of extra parts we could trade for them, including big stuff like:

12 X 12 plates (228-2500-059)
2 X 20 beams (228-2500-030)
12 X 12 truss plates (228-2500-205)

… and much more. I would also be happy to simply buy the 6 X 12 plates outright.

I have a ton of parts, I’m on tour today, I’ll see what I have for parts, but I’ll bet only a few of the 6x12’s.

Your best bet will be when stock comes back.

Can you pair up some smaller 2x12s with cross braces to get you buy for awhile?

Yeah, we have a lot of parts, too. Every once in a while, though, our team wants a bunch of something that is harder to get.

They tried three 2X12’s, but it was noticeably less stiff, not ideal for their gear mechanism. Thanks for the idea, though. I’ll either have to wait for the store to be restocked OR maybe hear from someone in the forum that wants to do a trade for a part we do have.
