Why do you have that view? Some teams might want more speed that 450 RPM would allow.

But with this year’s plastic limit, you’re basically using all of your plastic on the drivetrain, which I wouldn’t do, but you’re your own team, I guess.

In that case, I recommend you use something like 600 on 2.75, the ratios are much simpler.

The biggest reason is because it provides a fast speed while still maintaining simplicity and compactness, which 500 rpm just doesn’t have. The next fastest speed maintaining this is 480 on 3.25 at 76 ips

Yeah, I think for the majority of cases, 480 RPM on 3.25 is better, but there may be times that a 500 RPM on 2.75 might be better.

The issue is that there isn’t really a good ratio for 500 on 2.75.

Absolutely agree. 480/450 is much simpler, and in the case of 450 on 3.25, it is only ~5in/sec faster than 500 on 2.75, so just… why use 500?

May I ask why you decided for such a high capacity?

I actually didn’t expect to get even close to 73, I just started cadding intending to get 40-50 blocks. I don’t think 73 is necessary, and I’ve cadded a bot similar to 5155E’s that I believe is better due to weight and cycle time, even though it only holds 9-12.
