Me and my team were trying to figure out how could we use an accelerometer as a gyro sensor to measure the rotation of the robot. I was wondering if anybody could help us?

An accelerometer could only measure rotation as the robot tipped over. Both tip left /right and front /back.
Not rotation in place.
Unless you are talking about the new v5 IMU, which already has a gyroscope in it.

It is not possible. An accelerometer measures linear acceleration but a gyro measures rotational acceleration.
