Answered: Emptying starting pegs

We are wondering if an empty starting peg is scored if all the rings fall out of bounds/on the floor. We know they will not be put back on the field and are not concerned with that.

Let’s take a look at the definition of Emptied, quoted here for reference:

Emptied – A Starting Peg is emptied if no part of the Starting Peg is within the volume defined by the outer edges of a Ring. (i.e. There are no rings encircling or surrounding the Starting Peg.)

There is no requirement in the definition of Emptied for the Rings to remain within the playing field. Thus, this should still be scored as an Emptied Starting Peg.
