Answered: Joystick Port Repairs

Hello,
The little plastic tabs holding the Ethernet cable in the competition port of the joystick have broken off, causing the robot to disconnect from the field. We would like to repair this problem, but are unsure as to the legality of a repair like this.

We would like to glue in a very short extension cable into the broken port, and then affix the female side of that cable to the underside of the joystick. This would not alter the length of the wire, and no internal components of the joystick would be modified in any way.

As per <R15>

However, <R14> states that

Would this be a legal repair?

Thanks in advance!
Oren

No, this would not be legal, as per <R14>, quoted above.
