According to this Q&A from the Gateway Season we were allowed to shave off fractions of the sensor housing as long as it was only a mechanical modification.

I am wondering if this still applies to sensors, but also if it applies to motors.

Specifically the two 6-32 Mounting studs. I want to possibly cut these off, considering it would be a effectively a “Mechanical Modification” to the casing, not the motor itself.

Keep in mind I am asking this for VEX U division, not High School.

Edit: This would not be modifying the internals of the motor in any way.

This sort of purely mechanical modification would be legal in VEX U, but not legal in the standard High School game.
