Hi,
<R7> c. permits the use of non-VEX sourced screws within some size constraints.

In many situations it is desirable and sometimes necessary to utilize washers when using a fastener, especially with smaller gauges. As written the Robot Rules only permit VEX sourced washers which of course only suit #8 screws.

Q: Would you consider widening <R7> c. to permit washers as well?

Q: Screws with captive washers are commercially available. Are these considered “screws” and thus permitted by <R7> c.?

This is a good suggestion. We will investigate and the GDC will consider it for future seasons.

Yes, both screws and nuts with captive watchers are covered by <R7c>, thus are legal for use in VEX Skyrise.
