Anyone know anyone from like worlds last year that had good notebooks or links to their notebooks? I’m looking to be a better notebooker for our team.
@haonp is a great notebooker!
These are just a couple that are readily available from searching up on youtube or vex forums. Just keep in mind that the rubric has since been updated since these were judged.

21417A - 2023 Worlds excellence winners
515R - 2023 Technology design winners
Hey @goodatrobotics, it’s wonderful to hear you’re looking to improve!
Here are some of my favourites:
5151R - 515Revision_Notebook.4.29.2023.pdf - Google Drive
8926W - 8926W Worlds Notebook 2024-2025.pdf - Google Drive
Other than that, I’d make sure to read the rubric here. Judging Resource: Engineering Notebook Rubric – RECF Library. Even if these teams are brilliant at nbing, it’s still a good idea to follow the rubric first!
Good luck! btw I’m thinking about doing a nb reveal after worlds, so stay posted!
how did you find these
They’re online on the vex forum or youtube.
I personally look at notebooks that have done well in the past and put my own spin on it, for example my format for next year is inspired by 5203G, 515R, and Robokauz.
If you are curious here is my format for a Select and Plan page! Feel free to take inspiration.
Just as a reminder: Just because there are hundreds of pages does not mean the notebook is good. That is one of the biggest misunderstandings of notebooks.
Showing the details, and going through the process is one of the most vital elements of notebooks. Equally, interviews oftentimes have just as much weight as the notebooks as well, depending on the event.
Here’s BLRS2 (OU Worlds Design) + more notebooking resources on the BLRS Wiki:
They can be easily found on YouTube or vf, just search “notebook reveal” or “notebook”.
