I haven’t seen any Vex Light bars. The teams that do that are just using strips which are usually called decoration.

Not officially supported (That I know of).
But next year I plan to add led lights that are powered by 2 batteries that are a static color. This is legal because a remote can’t change the color of the lights. (Cause they only are 1 color)

There is such a thing called the LED indicator for V5 and the IQ Touch LED which, if you’re extremely enthusiastic about using VEX parts, could be used to create a light strip of some sort:

VEX doesn’t sell any, however teams usually use commercial vendors to obtain LEDs for decoration only.
Yes, these are legal as the rules are written. I don’t have any logic components between the brain and the light strip. The recent firmware update allows this to work. These def don’t warrant a full explanation, as they’re very simple, but basically i would suggest just getting one of these or something similar
Wire the power, ground, and data lines on the light strip to the power, data, and ground lines of a vex 3-pin connector, then plug it into the brain.
James has made a very helpful demo…
I would like to make a clarification here because a couple of people have run into issues here. Since I posted this link, it seems to have been updated to a different version of these lights.
You are going to want this kind of strip.

These are the 144 LED/3.2ft variety. The V5 Brain will only support 64 LEDs on a single strip, so you will need to trim and solder them yourself. You can make multiple smaller strips out of one larger one and drive them separately.
I do want to point out a couple of issues that will be encountered when driving the addressable LED strips from the 3wire ports. Some strips will work directly without needing to do anything about these, however, some strips may need additional logic to work reliably.
The addressable LEDs (WS2812, neopixel) use 5V logic but the 3wire ports are 3.3V logic. The LED want’s to detect logic 1 at 3.6V or above according to datasheet, so really our logic levels are too low. However, some strips I’v…
