You can check on the https://www.vexrobotics.com/ website, find the part, and check if it is “V5RC legal”

Ex: You’re looking at parts from the linear motion kit v1 (sku 276-1926)
If you check the discontinued parts list you can find that while it is discontinued, it is still V5RC legal
