We are getting a Attribute error on on VEX IQ brain. We are running block coding, the code if from the Touch LED lesson in VEX and it is working on almost all the brains except for a few. We have tried the following and it is still there: factory reset, deleting programs, updating firmware, swapping out brains, and every time we try to run the code we get the attribute error. I don’t know what else to do…
can you show/share the code you are running here ?
Interesting, I had already checked that code and it ran properly.
So to verify, this is an IQ generation 2 brain ?
Are you using desktop or web version of VEXcode ? If desktop, is it up to date ?
can you post a picture of the error you are seeing ?
ok, hard to see the message but it implies something about the generated code is incorrect or incompatible. I think the best thing to do is use the feedback tool in VEXcode to send feedback, then we can look at the project. reference “attribute error” in the feedback message. Be sure to have the project open and the IQ brain connected so that data is also provided to us.
you said that you did all these, that should have caused VEXcode to reinstall the Python VM that the code is running on, however, you could also try reinstalling that using the VEXcode tools menu->hardware->Reinstall Python System option.
Interesting development: this code has worked for 98% of our kids, it’s just a few brains that seem to be having an issue with this code. This lesson from VEX asks to open the testbed example and then run that code. I tried not opening the testbed example and installing the drives manually and it worked. No error and the Touch LED worked. I would still like to try to understand why that only happens with a few brains and why it doesn’t seem to like the testbed example.
Ok, thanks, yes the testbed example I see has an issue, I’ll let the team know.
If you delete the “color” sensor on Port 3 it will work.
