As @Foster said, the VEX library is a good place to start. One thing that I wish I had when I was just starting out in VEX would be Introduction | Ascend. It’s a bit weird on my computer, but it works great with a phone.

Yeah, after you get a good grasp of what all the parts do, before you start building I would recommend watching the build masterclass series.
