I am helping out the middle school vex teams within my organization, to find a drivetrain that works for them. Most of they will be using 2 green motors on each side and 4in wheels. The reason for this is because they are short on materials and have some constraints on how many motors each team can use while still leaving motors for the school program. I have told them to use 350 on 4in, 84-48 but I am just wondering if there are any better alternatives.
You can also use 60:36 to get 320 RPM (which is still decent on 4 inch wheels.)
This popular thread, Catalogue of Drive Gearings, has options for 4" wheels and 200rpm carts. Your 350rpm should work, but will require 6 motors. If teams only have 4 motors for drivetrain, use a slower gearing.

Thank you all for the quick response! I have looked into the catalogue and showed that to them. I was looking for opinions on which drives would be the simplest for them to build in a timely manner. I think I will take all of your advice and encourage them to use the catalogue and decide which one to do on their own.

Two things, that would be 333rpm, and (unless you add idler gears) the motor axle would be 2" from the wheel axle… which is problematic for 4" wheels.
ahh, yes. Thank you for your correction. We once used it on 3.25 inch wheels, which I guess is why it fit for us.
