Hello all,
I am looking for a ratcheting screwdriver / electric screwdriver/ bit set for use with the VEX system? I would be looking for something that can screw in screws fast and has a thin bit that can fit through the holes in vex metal. What do all of you use?
a few years ago I picked this up from my local home depot, couldn’t find it on their website anymore but it seems lowes still carries it. You would probably be able to find one somewhere around you.

It’s more than doubled in price since I got it, but I would still say it’s worth it. The bits I used didn’t quite fit through holes, but this thing was such a time saver, probably the best value I got from any tool. Ended up getting a second battery for it so I could use one while the other was charging. Would highly recommend something like this over most other electric screwdrivers which have the drill-type layout, so much nicer to handle.
Linus Tech Tips just released a ratcheting screwdriver in partnership with Mega Pro. It’s pricey and doesn’t ship till November but I’ve heard it’s good.
AGREED. My team has this drill, and it is by far my favorite. It provides much more accuracy and control than a standard trigger/up/down button style.
These are pretty great for putting screws in holes, and they fit in tight spaces, allowing for further application of this amazing drill.
i found these at my local ace an they are able to go through the c channel holes and reach deep enough to screw a screw into the opposing side of a 2x c channel Diablo T15 TORX 2 In. Power Impact Screwdriver Bit - Do it Best
Robosource.net is our team’s go-to place for tools. (Star Drive (Torx®) Tools for VEX Robotics at Incredible Prices - Robosource.net) There’s not a lot of call for power assembly tools in vex, but some of our teams have a small drivers like this one: https://www.harborfreight.com/4v-cordless-14-in-screwdriver-with-integrated-flashlight-kit-with-4-insert-bits-and-wall-charger-64313.html
#8 screws are pretty small to be power driving…it’s not that hard, especially if you have a high-quality ball-driver.
milwaukee cordless screwdriver… but any brand with an adjustable torque clutch and dual position handle
bosch t15 torx bits
milwaukee also makes some even longer… can’t seem to find a link right now
