Best way to do notebook

I am the notebook keeper for my team as the prior one left us; and I am severely lacking in skill for it to the point where we are losing chances for awards. (I don’t think anyone likes that happening.) Can you fourumers please show or describe the best templates/ways to write in the notebook?

Thanks for all helpful replies!!

watch this!

also, team notebook implies ALL are participating in documenting robot design process.

Hey 40994B, I would look up the rubric for the notebook online. You could ask your coach to send you a rubric. Also, GG at the Sevier Finals match and I was against you. I won but that was a learning lesson for you. See you at states man.

Try to go really in depth with it and explain every aspect of what you are going to add. Don’t forget to add visual aids as they help people understand some parts of you’re robot.

This is a video that helped with my team’s notebook.

I’ve found digital to be easiest, you can use these templates and edit on slides or another app. If you need a physical notebook for a competition you can always print your slides out.

My team uses a digital notebook and we think it’s easier to edit and change, as well as work on together/at the same time. Also, if you don’t have neat handwriting you don’t need to worry about writing.

I Prefer physical notebooking, because it generally looks neater unless put into expensive binders. Another reason is that i find that it looks nicer to put the drawings in a physical notebook rather than digital (for us artist notebookers out there), as they fit in better

Whether you decide on a physical notebook, a digital one, or even a hybrid (it shouldn’t be favored either way), the main aspect of notebook is documenting everything about your robot to a level at which someone could read through it and build your robot. There are plenty of videos on YouTube that can help, two of which are linked above. Make sure that you put your own spin on the notebook, as well; don’t just copy a template from somebody else.
