@Echo_Robotics actually there is a secret sub-forum where we talk about the Hexbug kits. There are a lot of us that buy the hexbug kits for parts. But before I sort and pack them away, I build the kit first. That way you get the benifits of a master class in design and build from the parts. It’s always good to know how that special part is used. Sometime we get protips from other master hexbug builders on different ways to use a part.
For example @ernest_barnes shows how he builds things and leaves some basic “Hey if you are building this too, try these things to make it better” Take a look at the cool things he has posted.
And remember there are sometimes contests that are not competition related but still a lot of fun (It's Lunar Lander Month! Build one and win $50)
And lastly, VEX robotics is a very cool robotics manufacturer and vendor of robot parts. The RECF runs a very cool competition. (Vex Stereotypes - #199 by DanMantz)
@johnnyboy Things to try
- Make sure your phone/tablet has internet access. When mine does the same thing, there seems to be a boost in internet traffic as the app tries to get the latest something.
- Turning the app on first and then turning on the robot and then connecting
- With the robot off press and hold the power button for 4 seconds. I don’t know if that does a hard reset, or just matches the retry cycle of the app.
Good luck!
