@anon4126930 Where are your constructive criticisms for that robot?
Yeah but it would be you standing in front of the folded tray and toast plugging in the battery as I smile and release all heck.
that’s me!
Ayy hopefully I get to see the robot in person… maybe(probably not)
I hate to say this but @squiddy_slapper may need to rebuild if he wants to apply my criticism.
Constructive Criticism
- Your tray really should not be supported by standoffs. If the reason is weight, you really won’t gain that much additional weight if you use C-Channels and yet C-Channels would provide so much more support. I’ve had bad experiences with standoffs, and I would advise not using them for your tray.
- Your tray arms have no bearing flats on them, so the metal will eventually wear down and also I bet there is a lot of slop for the tray which is not good.
- Your wheels should never consist of those clawbot tires. They suck, don’t use them. If you wish to have wheels for traction, buy traction tires instead.
- Use Spacer Screw Connections, as much as possible. It will seriously increase the support of the design, solidifying the robot into solid rock.
- You should not need to double up a High Strength gear. If you are doubling them up, (as you can see on the top right of the picture) you are not building your robot in a solid manner.
- Use thin nylocks, the weight of thick nylocks add up and thin nylocks would save you a lot of weight.
- I’m not the biggest fan of your VEXNet key there, being exposed for any robot to pull the wire and break it
- Speaking of wires… Wires are everywhere and welcoming robots to tug it.
- There is no need to have your Chassis made out of 3 wide C-Channels. You’re just adding unnecessary weight.
- I do not know much from the picture, but make sure that your axles never has any bearing flats on the motor side. The motors themselves are a bearing flat.
- I’m not sure about your joints, but make sure that they are all KEPS Joints. They have very little friction and very little slop
Post your robot @anon4126930
