Anyone streaming their tournament, do you have a quick fix for the buzzing sound coming from the OBS output? I’m getting both the music and TM audio sent into the mixer, and from the mixer, it’s routed to the computer running OBS. Have you experienced this issue before?
The most common cause of a buzzing sound is a ground loop (when the two systems being connected don’t have the same ground potential).
It’s difficult to be more specific without knowing more about the hardware situation, especially with regards to how you’re actually getting the audio into the computer (which is likely where the problem is occurring).
Assuming that is the problem, easiest thing to try is to make sure that the computer and mixer are plugged into the same power circuit so that they have the same ground. This should fix it, but I can’t make any guarantees.
Long-term, I would suggest getting either an adapter cable with an inline ground loop isolator, or a USB audio interface that has built-in isolation.
Hopefully that helps - audio isn’t my strongest area, but I’ve picked up a few things.
A quick fix may be adding an equalization filter to the audio (via right clicking it → filters) that lowers the volume of the frequency of the buzzing.
Alternative solutions would be noise supression, but these are all software solutions.
Realistically, If there is time I would investigate what device has the buzzing. Also note that not all microphones or systems can accept phantom power, which can cause buzzing too.
