Hi there! I have a problem where my brain button isn’t buttoning. It looks like the plastic piece may be broken and that I need a top cover. Is there another fix? Can I get just this one part?
Thanks!

I compared with another brain and see that the little plastic “goal post” that the check power switch pushes (v5 brain) is missing. Any idea where I can get one??
There is also a short fix by using the button on the battery it should power on the brain and to turn off unplug it.
You can contact VEX Support on their website or send an email. They should help you and most likely send you a replacement.
you got a 3D printer?
You can not modify electronics and have them remain legal for competition. Additionally, anything below VexU you can not 3D print anything other than a license plate.
With all the moderating and approved posts that happen now, I am surprised that the suggestion of 3D printing a replacement part for an electronic item was sent through.
I do. I asked Tech Support for an STL file, but haven’t heard back. I guess I could pull one apart again and measure it though. Do you have the specs? Here’s a photo of the part. Thanks!
There are lots of V5 systems being used outside of competition.
Yes, a modified brain is not competition legal, but it could have other uses.
I have to ask how was it lost in the first place ? there’s no need to be opening up a V5 brain under normal circumstances.
We have about 14 brains and i they’re just used for PLTW courses so no competitions. The only thing I can think of is that the top was taken off to install one of the brackets that has mounting slots on it. The plastic part falls out so easily and was lost. I will print one I guess so that the switch works again.
Who’s going to know if a piece of plastic is replaced internally anyhow?! If I could purchase one I would but can’t find it.
Update:
Our friendly VEX Support has offered to replace the missing piece. All is well again. Thanks for your help!
