If a preload starts in a catapult, will we have to go to the match load bar and then throw the preload, or can we just catapult it and then continue the match?

You can load only if the robot is touching the match load bar. You can shoot a legally-loaded ball from anywhere. So, if it was legally loaded pre-load then, it can be shot from anywhere.

As far as I’ve seen, it should be allowed, but I’m not completely sure. I would still check though.

Pre-loads you may do as you wish with them once the match start
What does the game manual say? Have you found a rule that prevents you from throwing triballs with your catapult? Remember that the game manual tells you what you MUST or MUST NOT do. It does not tell you what you should do.

Loading has to be done while touching the match load bar. Launching can happen anytime.

If it is a preload then you can shoot it whenever, wherever.
The only reason you would need to touch the matchload bar is to utilize SG6 and put triballs in your robot with your hands. For a preload, you are not putting a triball in your bot. Anything that isn’t restricted in the game manual is generally allowed, so you don’t need to touch the bar to launch a preload.
The match load bar is just for match loading triballs. You can catapult them from anywhere on the field.
Rule SG1 covers all of the requirements for starting a match. If you are required to touch the match load bar to launch a pre-load, SG1 will cover that.
The manual lists things you are required to do and things you are prohibited from doing. All other actions are allowed.
As long as it starts in the catapult at the start of the match, then yes. Although if you want to continue to matchload after match loading the preload, you need to be touching the bar.
