Chit-Chat category closed?

I was meandering around older forum posts and shadowed the forum for a bit, and I notice that all the chit-chat threads seem to have stopped or had their last post on November of 2022

When I looked at them, I also noticed that the reply button was gone

Is this a weird glitch on my part, or was the chit-chat category closed? (Sorry if I didn’t see any announcement or thread for this)

Not a glitch. The chit-chat forum was discontinued for use in an attempt to keep the website more focused on sharing technical resources, questions and answers. Many days, the chit-chat threads would bump more important and/or informational threads further down the homepage of the website, making navigation more challenging. While they were fun, the removal of them has made it such that the more pressing technical posts stay at the top of the homepage, waiting for discussion and answers that more closely relate to building and competing with robots.

Chit-chat and some other categories were closed last year and we have no plans to ever reopen them.
