I have a student working on a robot for a county wide scrimmage coming up. He has been working hard on a Choo Choo type mechanism, but has found that when the ball is thrown in, the bars attached to the Choo Choo gears get thrown off track as well. It seems like the gears are collapsing inward. He has tried standoffs to help, and the structure is still collapsing in on itself. I have tried to help him as much as I know (in advice), but he can’t get this to work properly. Does anyone have any ideas I could give to him?
