Hello, since I’m new at VEX, our bot failed miserably on my last competition (a modified Axel hero bot), and I’m trying to build a intake/roller robot, what is the best drivetrain design I could use?
Tank drive set up is the best with 4-6 motors. 6 motors optimal but if you dont have pneumatics its tricky to do 6m drive. this forum post shows You all kinds of drive gears set ups and there are multiple DT tutorials on youtube.

I’d go for a drivetrain with wheels. You should probably also use motors.
Seriously, we aren’t going to design your robot for you. Do some research and come back with a more specific question than “what is the best drivetrain.”
Do a design matrix based on what you have and what you want to achieve, and document it in the notebook. Judges love that. Judge and score the pros and cons of different drivetrain styles and such.
(I personally recommend 6 motor 8 wheel drive 2.75 omnis
I’ll use the design that I saw on 9mg DT’s Video, thanks!
