So, my team is building a bot that requires a claw but I don’t really want to buy the claw kit. Are there any alternatives to buying the claw kit. If you can please explain in detail or how to build something. This is the current set up and I would add the claw to the front panel currently set. Additionally if there are any suggestions on how to set this up differently let me know 
I’d reccomend watching this and changing your design so that its not only different, but better. You can use a piston on a gear or there are versions using a piston on a rack.

thanks for the suggestion! especially for the flip mechanics. my coach was concerned that the one in the picture wouldn’t work very well and skip/jump a lot.
