CoC violations now have consequences

Continuing the discussion from V5RC Push Back Game Manual Updates:

One of the problems with DQing teams from an event has been the unwanted side effect of there will now be teams without partners. I know that I’ve been loath to DQ a bad behaving team out of qualifications because of this.

This feature makes it much, much, much easier for an EP to check in with the RSM, tell the story, get approval and then take action without harming another team. I look at this as a huge win on being able to put consequences behind CoC rules.

I like how this will be in force at Worlds and for next season. Nice job GDC and RECF and thanks to DWAB for the fast turn time to make this happen.

This feels like a massive W for vex. Never felt fair that teams got punished cause their future alliance partner yelled at a ref or something and got kicked out. I’m a little concerned though about the implications of if say, team A gets G1ed after Q22 for a serious code of conduct violation, and they were scheduled to play in Q25, and now team B has to get ready for a match really fast, and it gets worse if team B was already playing in say Q24. I hope the algorithm tries to pick teams that aren’t going to be interfered with as much.

It clearly is not a good thing for for the next (former) partner. But most of my events run with a bigger gap than 2 matches. I’ve been informed that TM gives lots of details so getting team B the heads up for scouting can happen in time.
