Controller COM port not connecting

I am using Pros+lemlib, and I’m having some trouble connecting my controller to my computer. For some background, I can connect the brain just fine (However, I have to use a USB-C to USB converter because while the brain can connect to my normal USB port with the wire, it’s pretty banged up and can’t download properly). Unfortunately, whenever I connect my controller, it doesn’t download 90% of the time, either giving a ‘com port not found error’ or more often a ‘no v5 devices connected, try closing other programs, etc…’. Downloading from the controller works perfectly from my teammate’s computer, but we use mine for almost all coding, and it’s a hassle to download to the brain every time. If anyone could provide a reason for this or how to fix the issue, it would be greatly appreciated.

I thought I was the only one with this issue but for me it won’t even show that it’s connected to the computer no matter what cord or port.

My team is also having this issue, where we can only really upload code via plugging directly into the brain. A solution would be great!

Like i said I had the same issue, but I don’t know If my solution will work for you. First, I tried opening the com menu to mess with the port, which got it to show up (I don’t remember exactly what I did, but I was under the guidance of my teammate, so I will ask him. Also, you might need admin permission for this). I still didn’t download, so then I changed to a USB-C converter. Your situation seems a little strange, but this is what worked for me. The only other things I can suggest are normal troubleshooting steps like resetting the controller/brain, testing different wires, computers and vex hardware, and making sure everything is updated.

It only did this on the web version.

PROS always has a bug to where the port doesn’t recognize it when it is connected. Everyone who uses PROS experiences this.

A solution if you need to download via controller is to unplug it and replug it every time. Or just use the brain
