How is it illegal? It was just two Omni wheels taken apart then put together. They’re still made of vex material.
That’s correct. They’re still VEX parts and we didn’t add any non vex parts to them.
We had one for a prototype in next level, we called it the gear cracker. We changed the gears 3-5 times each tournament. They were splitting like that. Our coach made us change it even though it was a good design.
Easily prevented or avoided by reinforcing the high strength gear with some high strength lock bars from robosource.net
thanks! that was with a HS shaft, and that happened two years ago on our TT robot, but I will keep that in mind for the next time.
