Honestly, that reminds me of the base my sister team made. But they didnāt use rails as cross braces with their plates. When I told them that plates are too flexible, they layered more plates on top of the existing ones. They had a motor backwards like that too. On a good note, they used C channel on each side of the drive wheels like most bots have. But that was because I told them to do it that way before they built it.
Itās fun to be reminded of how far Iāve come since I was a beginner.

That true. Thanks for actually making it be optimistic constructive criticism.
Not a bad solution on two fronts - brain is not being used directly as a bumper, and gusset being weaker metal structure will absorb energy from impact which in past caused white screen of death.
Not sure why chain is being used in this case to drive wheelsā¦ but could be a case of future planning for rear mechanism when brain moved from current placement.
