Ah. Well, I don’t think I can escape the team in my area. Unlike reality, my team will search until they find me to tell me to start working on the robot.

Do not underestimate a middle schooler’s ability to not understand that things can break and that force is a thing that you need to think about.

Yeah I get that. That’s what happens when people think that axles are unbreakable and don’t worry about the force applied to them.
furthermore do not underestimate their ability to build unbelievably jank mechanisms that leave you with more questions than answers
We were doing a very very wierd mechanism in squared away, it was for releasing the balls into the box that we carried around on the back of our bot. We had a slip gear kinda thing going on, but the axel had to go through one of the peg holes surrounding the axel hole at the center. The last problem was that there was a piece that kept getting stuck in the axel hole, we had one of these pieces and shoved it in, since it was an axel cut by the fifth graders the year before us, they had done a horrible job doing it (They were cutting another axel down, and this was whats left.) When we put it in, it stuck fast and solved the problem.
