Dankest Vex Memes?

No, not exactly. Many teams do this at worlds (and other important events) to better their rankings, as a lot of teams spend up with the same WPs. It’s called SP farming. As long as their intention is to not throw the match, then I wouldn’t say that it violates RECF’s code of conduct.

Edit: Here’s an example from Skyrise, where 118 and their alliance partner 5278B (blue alliance) actually score for the red alliance to boost their SPs. As a matter of fact, in their division, a whopping 14 teams went 6-4, and it was 5278B’s high SPs that caused them to be ranked the highest (20th seed) amongst the other 6-4 teams.

First of all, strength points rarely make a difference, especially at smaller events. 7177’s event wasn’t big enough to likely have any affect.

Second, both teams need to be aware that they are going to try and get a couple extra points.

Third, it seems as if the teems intent was to throw the match to help out their sister team. Even if they were just trying to get some strength points, they still messed up big time by letting themselves loose.

To answer @RoboJoe ‘s original question. No it isn’t illegal to score for the other team, but if you do it with the intent to throw a match, then you are violating G1.

Good sportsmanship, which includes supporting your alliance partners

You should contact your RSM to report the team who threw and send in any video of the match if it is available. This is a serious issue that the rec foundation takes very seriously.

Thank you for your insight, unfourtunately I do not have a recording of the match. However, I will be recording my matches from now on. Hopefully we can push the message that this is not ok. I should not have to record my every match to ensure this doesn’t happen again.

Funny that you mentioned 118 in that context. During 2015 Worlds they went almost undefeated in qualifications, except for Q58 when they got carried away with that strategy, slightly miscalculated, and lost by two points 77 to 79:

If I do this, do I get a like from you?

I believe it is Paul Copioli.

There it is. I was waiting for someone to mention him.

I feel personally attacked.

By the sub count or view count?

Ironically, this actually happened to me at a tournament, except we only won 21-9. What’s even funnier is that the match was one of our two wins at the tournament, we went 2-4-0 and got second-to-last place in our division. How do you get 1v3’d by the 7th place team?

When we ask for a water game they give us this:

You missed one:

I can do you one better
The competition is in a day and your program get deleted off the flash drive,
so you spend 4 hours make a skills autonomous, that doesn’t open, so you use the 1 point autonomous and it works 2/3 times making us lose a couple places in skills.
(btw the autonomous that I spent 4 hours on if worked would of maxed scoring skills but it didn’t load or save to flash drive)

Actually, I forgot this one, too.
It’s @Ryan_4253B’s birthday, too. That makes 4.
