Descoring

I was wondering, if a team descores a stack is it only a dq if its match affecting? I’ve been wanting to clarify this seeing how in I all but once in the finals I’ve been in has a stack fallen and they have still won because it is “not match affecting”

That’s the rule, yes. After the match is complete the referees determine whether any rules violation they witnessed were match affecting. If they determine any were match affecting (defined as a change in score large enough to change the winner into the loser) then the single alliance member who caused the infraction is DQed if it is a qualification match. Then, the single non-disqualified member of the alliance who benefited from the rule violation is the winner.

If it is an elimination match, the entire alliance is DQed.

lets say there are 4 teams, team A and B are the red alliance, and team C and D are the blue alliance. assuming this is a qualification match and at the end team D descores enough cones to cause to blue alliance to win instead of the red alliance. Would that mean team D gets a DQ but team C still goes on to win the match?

Yes this is how it works

Dang okay I never knew this, I feel like this could be really abused by the wrong people.

Here’s a recent Q&A about that where it is detailed.
