Does anyone know the point of joining an alliance (Cyclone, Blizzard, etc.)?
The point is to share designs, learn, and just be apart of a small group that love the same thing. They usually help each other out and become very very great friends. And they also allow you to see what other robots are doing and how you can improve yours as well. There are lots of alliances like the SCA, Blizzard,UNA(gang), and the vortex and each one is different but share a common goal- to go to worlds
Basically its a smaller version on vex forums…
(most have discord).
Alliances have many different purposes. Some of the bigger alliances like Blizzard, Vortex, and cyclone (Which I am a part of) exist to get competitive teams together to share ideas and do better. I am also in the Earth Alliance which exists mainly to get teams from Maine together to help the competitiveness of our state. That is an example of a geographical alliance. The name came from a joke with the names of teams in Maine.
Hi! As a member of Blizzard Alliance I can confirm that joining alliances have benefits. Bouncing ideas off of each other, developing concepts, interacting with other competitors around the globe, and “flexing on others” are all things you can do when joining alliances. This can benefit matchplay, raise the difficulty of your region, and allow you to make new friends/plan alliances for big tournaments.
